Cane Island is a new 820 acre subdivision located within the city limits of the northwestern edge of old town Katy, Tx. starting in 2015. Several lakes, parks and green areas are planned. 1700 to 2000 homes are planned for $270,000 up to $900,000.

Several city parks are located close by. Katy City Park has two baseball fields, two softbally fields, soccer and flat football field, a covered basketball pavillion. Adjacent to the Mary Jo Peckham Park which features a fishing lake, pavillion and walking trails and swimming pool. The City of Katy Dog Park is adjoins Peckham Park.
