Stafford (Map) is an older, small town located on US 90A just east of Sugar Land and north of Missouri City. There are only about 20,000 citizens and lots of commercial development. It is famous for having no city property taxes. There are many light industrial-warehouse companies in Stafford.
The Stafford Center which has large meeting rooms and event venues. A concert hall houses the Fort Bend Symphony and has other musical events.
Stafford has many homes built in the 1970s to 1980s. It is an old small city with some homes dating back to the 1950s resulting in "tear down's" or homes requiring major renovation. Renovated homes may be more than $200,000. Some newer homes have been built. Stafford residential areas have good access to Houston by US 90A (Houston Main Street and the Medical Center) and US 59, as well as, State Highway 6.
Schools and Colleges
Stafford has one of the few Municipal School Districts in the state which serves only students from Stafford. Houston Community College has a 70 acre campus which opened in 2009 and serves over 10,000 students. Houston Baptist University and University of Houston System at Sugar Land are nearby.
